Aurora includes three search results layouts, switchable from Appearance → Customize → Layouts → Search Results Layout. The layout controls the search banner at the top of the results page. The post list below the banner uses whatever archive layout you have configured.

Default
Colored banner with the title centered and a compact rounded search input with a search icon inside, centered below the title. No subtitle. The search form sits fully within the banner area.
Bold
Colored banner with a larger centered title and a short subtitle below it. A wide search form sits below: text input on the left, solid “Search” button on the right. The form is more prominent than Default’s and overlaps the banner and page boundary.
Cover
Colored banner with the title left-aligned and a search input left-aligned directly below it. Compact layout with no subtitle. The search form is left-aligned rather than centered.
Shared Behaviour
- All three layouts use the same posts per page and sidebar settings as your archive pages
- The post list uses your active archive layout
- The banner background color and search form placeholder text are configurable under Layouts → Search Results Layout
- If no results are found, a “No results found” message is shown in place of the post list
- The search field remains accessible so visitors can refine their query without navigating away
To switch layouts, go to Appearance → Customize → Layouts → Search Results Layout and select from the dropdown.
