Each Aurora homepage layout includes up to 4 content sections positioned between the post blocks. These sections are free-form slots where you can add anything: a promotional banner, an ad unit, an email signup form, a custom HTML block, or any shortcode. They are entirely optional and blank by default.

Where the Sections Appear

The exact position of each section depends on the active homepage layout. In most layouts, sections sit between post groups, for example after the first 4 posts, between the next set, and so on. This lets you intersperse custom content naturally within your post feed without it feeling forced.

How to Add Content to a Section

  1. Go to Appearance → Customize.
  2. Open Layouts → Homepage Style.
  3. Scroll down to find the content section fields.
  4. Paste your HTML, shortcode, or ad code into the relevant section field.
  5. Click Publish.

Each section field accepts any HTML or shortcode. If you leave a section field empty, nothing renders in that position and no empty space is added.

Practical Uses

  • Display ads: paste your ad network code directly into a section field
  • Email signup: drop in your form plugin shortcode
  • Promo banners: add a custom HTML block with your own styling
  • Featured content: highlight a specific post, product, or category with a hand-crafted HTML snippet
See How to Configure the Homepage Layout for an overview of all 5 homepage layouts and how to switch between them.
