Aurora is designed to work without a page builder. Every layout, color, font, and structural decision is made from the WordPress Customizer. You do not need Elementor, Divi, or any other builder to get a professional-looking blog up and running.

What the Customizer Handles

From the Customizer alone you can configure:

  • Header layout and all header features: logo, nav, socials, CTA buttons, contact info, sticky behavior
  • Homepage layout and content sections
  • Archive layout, masonry, posts per page, pagination or load more
  • Single post layout, drop cap style, sidebar, and share buttons
  • Author page and search results layouts
  • 404 page layout
  • Footer layout and footer content
  • Colors: site background, header, footer, links, buttons, sidebar
  • Typography: body, headings, menu, and buttons, each independently

None of this requires a page builder. It all lives in the Customizer with live preview.

Writing Your Content

Post and page content is written in the WordPress block editor (Gutenberg) by default. Aurora does not interfere with the editor. You write your content normally and Aurora handles how it is presented on the front end.

If you prefer the classic editor or a specific page builder for writing, Aurora is compatible with those too. The theme does not lock you into any particular content editing workflow.

When You Might Want a Page Builder

Aurora handles all layout decisions at the theme level. Where a page builder becomes useful is for building highly custom page layouts, such as landing pages, sales pages, or pages with complex section arrangements that go beyond what a standard post template provides.

For those cases, Aurora works alongside Elementor and other builders without conflict. Your Customizer settings for colors and fonts carry through to builder-created pages automatically.

See Aurora’s layout system for a deeper look at how Aurora’s template approach differs from a builder approach.
